Here we are. A few days after the reveal of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Square Enix has gifted us with a very thorough cosplay gear guide. As you can see in the images below, there are quite a lot of details, including the texture and feel of several fabrics and materials.
The whole outfit looks much more technical to me, mostly because of the very specific fabric hints we got. Lots of fine details everywhere and an incredible amount of small props. But in the meantime, I feel like it would be pretty easy for beginners to complete a rather accurate version since most of the stuff can be bought online : boots, holster, pistol, walkie talkie, gloves, even the pants should be pretty easy to mod. Speaking of gloves, Lara Croft will finally be wearing her iconic fingerless ones. So without a doubt, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is closing the gap between this trilogy and the following episodes (Tomb Raider I and so on).
Some props will be pretty challenging to craft. I immediately think about the bow, which seems to feature macramé sewings. Something I never delved into before. The (now) legendary iceaxe is back too, with a slightly different weathering that i’ll be including in my future listings. By the way, the iceaxes I made for the London, Montreal and Los Angles reveals last week were already sporting some small imporvements, including a more realistic-looking blades. They look much more like real steel rather than silver paint.
Also, keep in mind that the quiver and knife will not be the only ones features in this game. So far, this guide is only about one outfit. But we know for a fact that there is another quiver, and the old tactical knife has been spotted too. So I would very likely expect several outfits, and several tiered weapons, just like we saw in the previous games, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider Reborn.
